IPL Season 6 Match 16 (CSK Vs RCB) Results

The 16th Match of IPL Season 6 was played between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers, Bangalore at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on 13th April, 2013. 

The toss was won by Chennai Super Kings and they chose to go for fielding first.   Chennai Super Kings won the match by 4 wickets with 1 ball still remaining.   The Man of the Match is Ravindra Jadeja of Chennai Super Kings.  Royal Challengers Bangalore made 165 runs and lost 6 wickets in 20 overs.   Chennai Super Kings made 166 runs for 6 wickets in 19.5 overs. Chennai Super Kings emerged as victorious in this match by 4 wickets.

Brief Scores: Royal Challengers Bangalore 165 for 6 (AB de Villiers 64, Chris Morris 3-40) lost to Chennai Super Kings 166 for 6 (Ravindra Jadeja 38, Ravi Rampaul 3-31) by 4 wickets.


Highlights of the 16th Match of IPL Season 6 between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers, Bangalore

  • The last over went like this : 4,6,1,2,1,1 + No Ball ( 16 runs)
  • CSK needed 16 runs for the win in the final over.  RP Singh was bowling and R. Jadeja was batting
  • Jadeja smashed a 4 then a 6 and it came down to 6 off 4 balls.  Jadeja took a single and Chris Morris was on strike.  Morris took two with mis field from Vikrat Kohli.  It was then 3 off 2 balls. Morris took one run and handed the strike back to Jadeja
  • Jadeja was caught at third man but RP Singh had overstepped and the batsmen took a run and what an anti climax it was.  CSK Won by 4 wickets.
  • It was a big no ball from RP Singh and CSK Won the second match till now.
  • CSK scored 102 runs in last 10 overs.   In the final 5 overs they hit 65 runs
  • AB de Villiers top scored for RCB with 32 runs in 64 balls.  He hit 8 fours and 1 six
  • RCB scored 50 runs in final five overs.  RCB captain Virat Kohli made 58 runs with 47 deliveries with 2 fours and 2 sixes
  • Kohli made 256 runs till now in five innings with 2 fifties.  He is second batsman after Karthik to go more than 200 runs in this IPL
  • Morris for CSK,  took 3/40 in four overs
  • RCB mad 13 fours and 4 sixers
  • RCB made 33/1 in first six overs. 50 runs came in 52 balls and 100 in 85 balls.  150 was scored in 112 balls
  • Muttaiah Muralidharan had to miss this game as IPL Governing Council had decided not to allow Sri Lankan players in Chennai games due to anti-Sinhalese sentiments in Tamil Nadu
